Joss Whedon Alums Reunite in New Lust for Love Trailer!

Lust for Love first caught my attention back in October of 2011. The indie romcom was looking for funding on Kickstarter and it featured a cast that was of great appeal to me considering I’m a big fan of Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse. Fran Kranz and Dichen Lachman were in the starring roles with an ensemble that included the awesome Enver Gjokaj, Felicia Day, Miracle Laurie and even Dollhouse writer Maurissa Tancharoen (she’s also a showrunner of ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. along with her husband Jed Whedon). Every one of those Dollhouse alums are very talented people and I’ve been very eager to get to see the movie. Now, through the power of Kickstarter, Lust for Love will be available soon for everyone to see and the trailer (below) gives us our first look at the movie. Lust for Love, directed by Anton King, also features Beau Garrett (Tron: Legacy) and Caitlin Stasey (Reign).

I think the movie looks really funny and I can’t wait to see (some of) the Dollhouse cast together again. Fran Kranz has had some big screen appearances in Cabin in the Woods and Much Ado About Nothing and he looks great here but I’m hoping people take great notice of Dichen Lachman in this movie as she looks absolutely fantastic in it. I’d like to see her get more roles on the big screen. Lust for Love will be available online and On Demand in the US and Canada on February 7.

Here’s the synopsis:

Astor’s (Kranz) happy tenacity spoils his one chance at love with his lifelong crush Mila (Garrett). Convinced he needs more experience with women to win her back, he engages her ex-best friend Cali (Lachman) to teach him how to woo women. Together they dissect his failings, and Astor makes his awkward pick-up attempts. As Astor begins to juggle multiple opportunities, he discovers the source of the rift between Cali and Mila, and the trio are forced to confront their conceptions about love.
