Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World, Game of Thrones) is in talks to direct the Terminator franchise reboot for Skydance Productions, Paramount and Annapurna Pictures. Arnold Schwarzenegger is still involved but his role in the film remains to be seen. (Variety)

A new multi-character poster for Machete Kills has premiered online. The Robert Rodriguez directed sequel hits theaters on October 11. (Fandango)

Director Roland Emmerich has confirmed that he is in discussions to reboot the Stargate franchise as a new movie trilogy. Emmerich spoke on the matter saying, “We went to MGM, who has the rights, and proposed to them to do a sequel, but as a reboot… and reboot it as a movie and then do three parts. Pretty soon we’ll have to look for a writer and start.” (Digital Spy)

The final cast has been locked for David Fincher’s next film Gone Girl. Rosamund Pike and Ben Affleck were already cast as the leads along with co-stars Kim Dickens and Patrick Fugit and it was just announced that Tyler Perry has joined the movie as an attorney that represents Affleck’s character in the movie. Neil Patrick Harris is also nearing a deal to come aboard the film. The story follows a woman who disappears on the day of her fifth anniversary, with all indications pointing to her husband as the killer. (Deadline)

Warner Bros and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way are looking to re-imagine The Island of Dr. Moreau. They’ve hired Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy to pen the film based on H.G. Wells’ classic novel with the intention of making it a sci-fi film with a topical ecological message. (Deadline)

New stills from director Alexander Aja’s latest film, Horns, have popped up online featuring Daniel Radcliffe sporting some newly sprouted horns. The movie is based off of Joe Hill’s novel of the same name about a man who is suspected of brutally killing his girlfriend. As he investigates his girlfriend’s death, he starts growing demonic horns on his head which seem to carry the power to make anyone he talks to tell the truth. (EW)

There appears to be a new Sherlock Holmes project in the works. Director Bill Condon and Sir Ian McKellan are retiming for A Slight Trick of the Mind. McKellan would play a long-retired Sherlock Holmes who is haunted by an unsolved fifty year old case of which he only remembers fragments of. (Screen Daily)

Paramount Pictures has revealed the title of the new Transformers movie which will be Transformers: Age of Extinction. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura also let slip that it looks like the Dinobots will be appearing in the next film as well. The Michael Bay directed film will open June 27, 2014. (Yahoo! Movies)

Mad Men and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows actor Jared Harris has joined the cast of the Poltergeist reboot as a former academic who now hosts a basic cable TV series entitled Haunted House Cleaners. He joins the already cast Rosemarie DeWitt and Sam Rockwell as the parents in the film. Gil Kenan (Monster House) will direct with Sam Raimi producing. (Deadline)

The trailer for the RoboCop reboot is now online. The movie, directed by Jose Padilla, stars The Killing‘s Joel Kinnaman, Abbie Cornish, Gary Oldman and Samuel L. Jackson. It opens in theaters on February 7, 2014.
