Oh, the Horror!…. Trailers

Since I’m about to embark on a horror-filled weekend at Horror Hound in Cincinnati, OH tomorrow, I thought I’d prepare by seeking out some older horror movie trailers and compile them here for your viewing pleasure.  I’m incredibly excited that John Carpenter is going to be at the convention and I will be taking some of my Carpenter Blu-rays to get signed for sure.  I’m also pretty jazzed about the Christine panel with Carpenter and some cast members.  With others like Tom Savini, Dean Cundey, Adam Green, Joe Lynch, Tony Todd, Sid Haig, Robert Patrick, Michael Rooker, Norman Reedus, Jon Bernthal, Michael Madsen, Lew Temple and Charles Band attending the convention, this weekend is bound to be a great time.

Christine

This is a great teaser trailer for John Carpenter’s classic.  I love the tag at the end “Body by Plymouth, soul by Satan.”  Awesome.

Candyman

I love this movie.  I seem to run into people who don’t enjoy this as much as I do but I think it’s pretty great.  The score is awesome and the movie is pretty engrossing, plus it features Ted Raimi! (albeit in a small role)

The Amityville Horror (1979)

This is one of the horror classics I grew up on and it’s among one of my favorites of the haunted house genre.  Does anyone else have the hots for Margot Kidder in this movie?

The People Under the Stairs

This is one of my favorite Wes Craven films.  The People Under the Stairs features one of the most demented and frightening parents/couples ever on screen.  It’s good times, watch it if you haven’t seen it.

The Deadly Spawn

I discovered this movie last year and had a lot of fun with it.  Cheesy, gorey, awesome practical effects = ’80s B-movie campy goodness.

The Fog

Another Carpenter classic.  Watch out for this one to hit Blu-ray this year from Scream Factory.

The Slumber Party Massacre

WARNING! NSFW: Contains nudity. A lot of people seem to like Slumber Party Massacre 2 more but I prefer the first one over its sequel.  This is just a really fun so-bad-it’s-good slasher film.  The dialogue in the movie will amaze.
