The trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim is now online.  I usually don’t do any commentary on the Popcorn News news bits but.. holy crap this looks amazing!  I can’t wait to watch giant robots duke it out with giant monsters! (YouTube)

Peter Jackson stated recently in a Belgian press conference that the plan is to ‘shoot’ the performance capture for the next Tintin movie at some point next year for a 2015 release date.  He would have to make some time in between his Hobbit post-production schedule to do so. (Bleeding Cool)

20th Century Fox has set a March 6, 2015 release date for their upcoming reboot of Fantastic Four.  The film will be directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle). (SuperHeroHype)

Gillian Anderson (Scully on X-Files) has been cast as Hannibal Lecter’s psychoanalyst in a multi-episode arc in NBC’s upcoming series, Hannibal.  The show is being run by Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies) and has a cast that includes Mads Mikkelsen, Hugh Dancy, Laurence Fishburne, Eddie Izzard, Gina Torres, Molly Shannon, Ellen Greene and Chelan Simmons. (EW)

Willow, the 1988 fantasy film starring Warwick Davis and Val Kilmer, will be released in a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack in celebration of its 25th anniversary from 20th Century Fox.  It will feature a new digital transfer and restoration by Lucasfilm and contains all-new extras.  Look for it in stores on March 12, 2013. A poster for Michael Bay’s new low-budget film, Pain & Gain, has hit the web.  The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson, Anthony Mackie, Ed Harris, Rob Corddry, Ken Jeong and Tony Shalhoub.  It opens April 26, 2013. (Comingsoon.net)

Netflix has agreed to add additional episodes to their order of the new season of Arrested Development.  Originally slated for ten episodes, it’s expected that Season 4 will now be 12-15 episodes in length.  Netflix is aiming for a spring premiere for the new episodes to be released all at once on their streaming service. Warner Bros. is negotiating the acquisition of Get Hard, a comedy pitch package that will be developed as a starring vehicle for Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart.  Ferrell would play a rich, soft-handed investment bank manager who is sentenced to a maximum security prison for a crime he didn’t commit.  He hires a streetwise guy who normally washes his car to get him ready to do hard time in the 30 days before he has to report to prison. Director Nicholas Winding Refn (Drive) has been offered helming duties on Equalizer, which has Denzel Washington attached to star for Sony Pictures.  Richard Wenk penned the script of the adaptation of the 80s TV show which follows a former covert operations officer who hates injustice and fights for those who can’t. Rovio Entertainment announced that Despicable Me producer John Cohen will executive produce the Angry Birds 3D CG-animated film coming out in summer of 2016.  Rovio will produce and finance the movie outside the studio system and retain full creative control. (Comingsoon.net)

    More and more reasons to watch Hannibal…! The ‘cool’ just keeps flooding in. I do like Fuller too.
