Hugo Weaving stated in an interview that, after having played the Red Skull in Captain America, he has no intention of playing the character ever again even though he is contracted for more films.  “I’m glad I did it.  I did sign up for a number of pictures and I suppose, contractually, I would be obliged to, if they forced me to, but they wouldn’t want to force someone to do it, if they didn’t want to.  I think I’ve done my dash with that sort of film.” (Collider)

TNT has greenlit Frank Darabont’s L.A. Noir.  Six episodes have been ordered for this crime drama TV series that reunites Darabont with his The Walking Dead alums Jon Bernthal and Jeffrey DeMunn. (Ain’t It Cool News)

Ghostbusters 3 looks to be headed into production for the summer of 2013 with Ivan Reitman directing.  This would put the film on track for a 2014 release date.  Bill Murray is sitting out of the project. (Deadline)

Screenwriter David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole, Oz: The Great and Powerful) has confirmed that he is in fact working on a script for a remake of Poltergeist which is being produced by Sam Raimi. (ShockTillYouDrop)

When asked about developments on Black Dynamite 2, Michael Jai White stated that they may be changing the setting and characters, “In the inception of Black Dynamite there were a few type[s] of ideas we were going to do.  Kind of like Monty Python, use the same cast but do different type[s] of movies.  We had discussed, and it looks like we’re getting closer to the decision of something that would be an homage to Blazing Saddles. […] It’s a western comedy in that spirit of Blazing Saddles, but you mix that with Buck and the Preacher.” (Crave Online)

Sinister producer Jason Blum and director Scott Derrickson are reteaming to bring Stephen King’s novella, Breathing Method, to the big screen.  They have secured the option from King and have set Scott Teems to write the screenplay. (Deadline)

Lionsgate will release The Expendables 2 on Blu-ray and DVD on November 20th.  The special features include audio commentary with director Simon West, 4 behind-the-scenes featurettes (Gods of War: Assembling Earth’s Mightiest Anti-HeroesBig Guns, Bigger Heroes: The 1980’s and the Rise of the Action FilmOn the Assault: The Real-Life Weaponry of The Expendables and Guns for Hire: The Real Expendables), deleted scenes and a gag reel. Sony Pictures RoboCop reboot is moving from its currently scheduled release date of August 9, 2013 to February 7, 2014.  Taking its previous August 9th release date is Neill Blomkamp’s sci-fi thriller, Elysium, starring Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, Wagner Moura, Alice Braga and Diego Luna, which was originally opening on March 1, 2013. Aaron Paul (Jesse Pinkman on AMC’s Breaking Bad) has signed on to star in the adaptation of the video game, Need for Speed.  The film is scheduled for February 7, 2014 and will be directed by Scott Waugh (Act of Valor). (Ain’t It Cool News)
