Monster Popcorn Presents The American Scream

It’s time for another Monster Popcorn presents screening and I’m taking advantage of the Halloween season and presenting the festival hit, The American Scream!

Every Halloween, sleepy Fairhaven, Massachusetts erupts with the most ambitiously creative spookery in the world.  Endless styrofoam tombstones and backyard beasts come courtesy of a few supremely dedicated local “home haunters” who’ve devoted their lives to the art of handmade monster-making.  The American Scream follows three of these horrific households to uncover the triumphs and tragedies that come with carrying the blackened banner of true Halloween spirit.

This new documentary from the critically acclaimed Best Worst Movie director Michael Stephenson, who also starred in the legendary cult hit Troll 2, screened at the Toronto Film Festival and was a big hit!  The American Scream (watch the film’s trailer below) has been called “a warm, emotional and touching documentary” (Eric Vespe, Ain’t It Cool News) and “a touching, fascinating, and deeply sincere testament to unflappable creative spark” (Brian Salisbury, Film School Rejects).  So if you live in the Columbus, OH area, be sure to reserve your ticket in advance and come see The American Scream at the Gateway Film Center on Oct. 28 at 7:30pm!  I will be giving away some goodies to some lucky attendees as well so don’t miss out!  And don’t forget to help spread the word on Twitter and Facebook!

If you have any questions regarding the screening, feel free to contact me via email:
