Gina Carano In Talks To Join Fast & Furious 6!

Hollywood Reporter is reporting that former MMA fighter turned actress Gina Carano (Haywire) is in negotiations to join the next installment of the Fast & Furious franchise.  It’s already expected that Paul Walker, Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson will return.  It seems Carano would be a member of Agent Hobbs’ (Johnson) team.  Justin Lin and Chris Morgan are back as director and writer respectively.  Carano has also recently won the lead role in the John Stockwell directed action thriller In The Blood but would apparently shoot that film after Fast & Furious 6.

I’ve been a big fan of Gina Carano since she played a gladiator on the American Gladiator revival series a couple of years ago.  I was incredibly excited when Soderbergh’s Haywire was announced with her in the lead dishing out her brand of violence on the big screen.  Needless to say, I was hooked after seeing that film.  I truly believe Carano has the ability to become a big action star and seeing that people have taken notice after Haywire‘s release has me really pumped.  I had heard about In The Blood, which looks to be in the vein of Taken.  Carano takes revenge on bad guys and kicks the shit out of them?  I’m sold.

Carano’s involvement in the new Fast & Furious movie has me incredibly giddy.  Admittedly, I’m not a fan of the Fast franchise, with exception to Fast Five, which was actually a pretty kick ass action film.  Thankfully, the same creative team behind Fast Five is doing the sixth film.  I think the movie will give Carano greater exposure to moviegoers and help support her blossoming film career.  With the same creative team behind the production, Dwayne Johnson and now Gina Carano, Fast 6 will end up being the first movie in the franchise that I will enthusiastically await for its release.  My dream of Gina Carano joining the cast of Expendables 3 is getting closer and closer!
