Alex Proyas (Dark City, The Crow) is set to direct The Unpleasant Profession of Jonathan Hoag.  Proyas will be writing the adaptation of the 1942 Robert Heinlein novella of the same name, which actually served as inspiration for Proyas’ Dark City. (The Hollywood Reporter)

Writer/director Ti West (The Innkeepers, The House of the Devil) has been hired by Tango Pictures to write the film adaptation of Bedbugs based on the bestselling horror novel of the same name by Ben H. Winters.  No word yet if West will direct the picture. (Deadline)

New stills of Felicia Day in an upcoming episode of Supernatural have appeared online.  The episode, titled The Girl With The Dungeons & Dragons Tattoo, will air on April 20th on the CW.  (TV Guide)

HBO has renewed Game of Thrones for a third season after seeing the ratings come in for the season two premiere which had 8.3 million viewers. (Ain’t It Cool News)

The remake of Carrie is now set for release on March 15, 2013.  The film will not be a reworking of DePalma’s film and instead be taking its lead from Stephen King’s original story.  Chloe Moretz will play the titular character in the Kimberly Pierce (Stop-Loss, Boys Don’t Cry) directed film which is written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.  (Comingsoon.net)

AMC is developing another Robert Kirkman comic for television, Thief of Thieves.  The comic, which is only in its third issue, will be adapted and executive produced by Kirkman and David Alpert.  Chic Eglee (Dexter) will be serving as showrunner.  (Superherohype.com)

Director Tim Hill (Alvin and the Chipmunks, Hop) talked about the Short Circuit remake he’s involved with and how Johnny 5’s design will be revised.  He states that it will be more true to modern design and will try to strike a balance between something fierce and something endearing. Entertainment Weekly has concept art from the upcoming Munsters reboot TV series, Mockingbird Lane.  The series is set up at NBC with Bryan Fuller producing.  (Dread Central)

Spike Lee’s Oldboy remake may have found its villain in Sharlto Copley (District 9, The A-Team).  He would be joining the already cast Josh Brolin and Elizabeth Olsen. (Variety)

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg will reteam for the upcoming comedy 3 Mississippi.  The film will tell of the feud between two families over an annual Thanksgiving touch football game that has existed for 50 years.  Ferrell and Wahlberg will be playing members from each of the feuding families.  Sean Anders and John Morris (screenwriters of Hot Tub Time Machine) are in negotiations to direct. Six new stills from Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises have appeared online which include shots of Batman, Catwoman, Bane and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake. (Batman News)

Sony Pictures is looking to develop a film based on Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a superhero.  They state that they are looking to create something in the vein of Spider-man where a young girl would come to terms with her remarkable powers. (Deadline)

Fox Searchlight Pictures upcoming film Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho has shortened its title to simply Hitchcock.  The film stars Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren, Scarlett Johansson, James D’Arcy, Jessica Biel, Toni Collette, Kurtwood Smith and Danny Huston. (Comingsoon.net)
