Max Landis, son of John Landis, looks set to return to draft a sequel to the hit movie, Chronicle. No word yet on whether or not Josh Trank will return to direct as he is in talks to direct Sony’s Spider-man spinoff, Venom. (Superherohype.com)
Joss Whedon recently was asked in an interview what he thought an Avengers sequel could do to top the first film. He answered, “By not trying to. By being smaller. More personal, more painful… By being the next thing that should happen to these characters, and not just a rehash of what seemed to work the first time. By having a theme that is completely fresh and organic to itself.” (NME)
Woody Allen has signed on to star in John Turturro’s indie comedy, Fading Gigolo. Turturro, who directs and co-stars, will play a man down on his luck that tries to become a gigolo with Allen playing the role of his pimp. This will be the first time Woody Allen has acted in a film he did not direct in over a decade. (Variety)
A rumor appeared online that Sylvester Stallone had taken over editing duties from director Walter Hill (The Warriors) on Bullet to the Head. Harry from Ain’t It Cool News was contacted by Stallone who debunked the rumors saying that the movie is still in the very capable hands of Mr. Hill. (Ain’t It Cool News)
A third Bill and Ted film is being developed with a script already having been written and Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter will reprise their original roles. Reeves spoke about the script saying, “Yeah, we have a script. We’re trying to put it together. It’s a good script too.” (The Press Association)

Universal had previously abandoned its Ouija movie based upon the Hasbro board game once the budget had reached $100 million dollars. The project is now back from the dead and is on track for a 2013 release but this time with a budget of a mere $5 million. Jason Blum has come aboard to produce in addition to Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes. Blum is known for producing films of very low budget nature which go on to earn many times their own budget such as Paranormal Activity and Insidious. (Deadline)

Jessica Lucas (Melrose Place) and Elizabeth Blackmore (Legend of the Seeker) are joining the cast of the The Evil Dead remake/reboot. Shooting on the film, directed by Fede Alavarez, is expected to kick off in New Zealand next month. (Hollywood Reporter)
Netflix is considering the notion of keeping the now cancelled FOX TV show, Terra Nova, alive. Talk between Netflix and 20th Century Fox is preliminary and no concrete plans have been made but 20th is looking to find a new home for the show since it is a good international seller. (Deadline)
Jerrry Bruckheimer revealed a new photo from Gore Verbinski’s The Lone Ranger on his Twitter account. The film stars Armie Hammer as the titular character and Johnny Depp as Tonto.
The new poster for Wes Anderson’s upcoming film, Moonrise Kingdom, has hit the web. The film, which stars Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward, opens on May 25.
