Jeremy Renner Is Bourne Into A Legacy

The new trailer for The Bourne Legacy is now online over at iTunes.  It’s essentially just a teaser of what’s to come but I have to say that I’m kind of pumped for it.  I really like Jeremy Renner and I think he’s going to do really well in a Jason Bourne-like role.  I had completely forgotten that Edward Norton is in the film and I’m a fan of his so that has me even more excited for the film.  I actually think that this could be a really good way of growing the Bourne franchise into something that could have some longevity a la James Bond.  By having multiple characters that come from the Treadstone project,  you can allow, ideally, a trilogy of films starring a new actor and have them go on for as long as fans clamor for more.  I’m definitely be up for a trilogy starring Renner as long as the quality of the films continues as it did for Matt Damon’s three films.  You can find the quicktime trailer here or view the trailer below (as well as the new one-sheet for the film).

I’m still a little leery, but reviews could definitely sway me. I’ll most likely watch this on Bluray.

I think we are all in for a good transition. Jeremy Renner is a good actor and I think can be just as badass as Matt Damon was in the original three. I think Renner should hold his own quite well.

great post. Before I watched the trailer I was very weary about Matt Damon not being Bourne because I thought the last 3 movies were great. After watching the trailer, some of my fears were alleiviated. Hopefully the transition will go as smoothly as the transformation of Bond or Batman
