Movie News Ketchup!

Get it.. ketchup.. catchup?!  No, okay, fine.  My humor does not amuse but perhaps you’ll be interested in the following news kernels (I did it again) that were reported over the weekend.

– A new teaser poster for The Dark Knight Rises arrived online and it looks pretty cool. (Ain’t It Cool News)

– A new poster for The Amazing Spider-man was also revealed.  I’m still really on the fence about this movie.  Don’t get me wrong, I’ll see it opening day but the “reboot” nature of it makes me less enthusiastic about it.  I just want a good Spidey film.  I like the shadow casting design here.  (SuperHeroHype)

– Neil Marshall’s next film may be a slasher film, Hellfest.  The story apparently follows a group of people that are stalked by a masked killer at an amusement park Halloween event, similar to Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights.  He hasn’t officially signed on but I really hope he takes the project as Marshall could create a really fun slasher movie.  I like the location of the film as well and it will certainly lend its hand in creating some great atmosphere I’m sure.  I’m a big fan of Marshall and think he’s one of the best genre directors we have working.  If he takes the project, we should expect some really fun gruesome gore scenes.  (Shock Til You Drop)

– Nick Frost briefly talked about the next entry in the Edgar Wright/Simon Pegg/Nick Frost Cornetto trilogy, tentatively titled The World’s End.  “There is a draft out there, which I’ve read, and it’s great, and I think our plan is to crack on and shoot next year. Touch wood. They move and they change but we definitely want to get on with it.”  I’m interested in knowing more about what genre they will tackle next after having done zombies and the buddy cop genres.  (Coming Soon)

– Alan Taylor and Daniel Minahan, regular directors on HBO’s Game of Thrones, apparently are both being considered to take over the reigns of Thor 2 after Patty Jenkins left the project over creative differences.  A new screenwriter was also being brought on board to rework Don Payne’s script.  (Heat Vision)

– The new trailer for Men In Black 3 is online now.  I enjoyed MIB when it originally came out but I’ve lost my interest in the series.  The trailer doesn’t look awful but it’ll take some extreme praise for the film to get me to want to sit through it I think.
